Our goal is to make every project HASSLE-FREE. During our walk through, we will work together to outline your scope of work. Our comprehensive process ensures that we both have a full understanding of what’s expected so that we can accurately complete your project and there are no surprises along the way.
Once you have decided to partner with Green Guys, we will add you to the schedule. No deposit is required and we will communicate with you regularly before your project begins to confirm and discuss specific details of our arrival.
For the best results, exterior painting projects require overnight temperatures to stay above 40 degrees. This means the typical exterior painting season is April through October. We do, however, perform estimates for exterior projects year-round and will slate you into our schedule once the weather allows us to begin.
Prep Work
Prep work is a critical part of the painting process. As part of our commitment to providing five star service, we take great pride in attention to detail so that the finished product exceeds your expectations.
Our team will ensure that your home is professionally prepped based on your project requirements to ensure a beautiful finish. Before we begin, we will ensure that windows, fixtures, and key areas of your home are protected by tapes and tarps. We will also work with you to make sure that landscaping near the home is protected for the duration of the project.
How You Can Help: Before our arrival, it’s helpful if you move all items that are typically located near the outside walls of your home away from your house. This includes cars, trash and recycling bins, equipment, outdoor decor and furniture, etc. We are available to assist if needed, but we are not professional movers and don’t want anything to happen to your belongings. Please let us know during the estimating process if you need assistance moving furniture so we can discuss the best solution.
Paint and Color Selection
During your estimate, we will discuss the amount of paint (or other products) you will need for your project. However, this amount is not included in your estimate and here’s why: we love transparency.
Some contractors will estimate your paint costs to the best of their ability and get it right, some will overestimate the amount of paint to give themselves a little breathing room (which will result in you paying for more paint than you need), and some will even markup the paint purchase as a way to make more money.
When we purchase paint for you during your project, we only buy what we need and we pass on the actual costs to you, which are documented at the end of the project on the final invoice. This means no markups, no overages, and complete transparency.
And, while we make recommendations about the type of product that would be best depending on your desired results, we will use any brand of paint you prefer.
If you don’t have a preference, Green Guys typically uses Sherwin Williams paint because their high-quality products consistently produce exceptional finishes for our projects. As part of this partnership, we are able to pass along our special contractor pricing to you.
